Bluff complex security proposal

Hi All,

Please forward this to your property managers and Board members.

Del Mar Beach Club is considering changing their security company to Inter City Public Safety, who is making a proposal to take care of as many of our condo complexes as possible to achieve the lowest costs.

Attached is their information packet and see the message below for their quotation for each of our properties.

According to the summary of the project sheets, 5 of our 9 COOSSA member properties use a security company.

I personally wondered about needing a security company if they only minimize car window "smash & grabs", which happen very quickly in the middle of the night and can best be prevented by telling people not to leave anything in their cars. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be anything illegal going on in our complexes, except for the occasional trespasser. However, Del Mar Beach Club says that their security also enforces the rules, which is very valuable, and I'm sure that the presence of a security company discourages people from doing things they shouldn't do...

Please let Nancy Wozniak, Community Manager for Del Mar Beach Club (copied on this message), know if you have any questions or interest.

Thank you,

Mark

Subject: Security for the bluff

Hi Mark:

Dorie Harleman called me this morning and said at last night COOSSA meeting, there were some who mentioned there were no rates given in their proposal for Inter City Public Safety Security Company. I am sorry, but I know they inserted a rate sheet for all of the communities on the bluff and even told me they would go lower if we could get a "group" of us to change to their security company.

Here are the rates and again, please keep in mind the more we can get to sign up the cheaper it is for all of us and even more important, we will have a one dedicated security company for the bluff.

DEL MAR BEACH CLUB, SEASCAPE SUR ESTATES, DEL MAR SHORES TERRACE, SOLANA BEACH & TENNIS AT $1200 @ MONTH

SURF SONG, SEASCAPE SHORES, AND SEA CAPE ALL AT $800 @ MONTH AMD LAS BRISAS AND SEASCAPE CHATEAU AT $450.00 @ MONTH.

"They will work within any financial parameters you may suggest, providing however, that such parameters do not limit the security functions so as to create a danger or inability to your expectations."

If anyone has any questions or other suggestions, please feel free to contact me or Ken Bettencourt (VP Inter City Public Safety Company)

Mark, thanks for the information. We will discuss this option at our Surfsong budget meeting today. I think we will be reluctant to migrate away from our long term security service provider, Ted Nulty Security. We have been with him for over 10 years. He has served us well.

Now that we have Surfsong restored and our bluff stabilized with sea walls for the next 72 years, security competes with unit-to-unit noise abatement as the # 1 concern for the owners at Surfsong.

Thanks again to you and COOSSA for continuing to add value to Surfsong.
